The phrase ‘shrimp on the barbie’ is one thrown around to make reference to anything from ‘Down Under’, so perhaps this upcoming Quickstrike release of the Nike SB Dunk Low has some sort of Australian theme to it? Featuring a basic Black leather upper with a red swoosh, this Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Shrimp’ features a stitched icon of a ‘shrimp’ with a special tongue label of a grill – thus, the ‘shrimp on the barbie’ connection. The phrase itself originated from a series of Australian advertisements in the 80′s, with the signature phrase coming from the actor who would later be remembered as Crocodile Dundee. These SB Dunks also come with a pair of secondary laces that appear to be a light pink tint for further shrimp effect.
The lightweight and breathable Hyperfuse material seen on the Nike Zoom KD IV and a slew of other Nike Basketball footwear models that have released since the Hyperfuse debut in July 2010 has shown us that matte finishes seem to maximize the visual pop. Take for example the Cool Grey/Del Sol colorway of the Nike Zoom KD IV; the smooth finish on the upper combines astoundingly well with the neutral tone of Cool Grey, giving the shoe an unprecedented ‘liquid metal’ appeal. Corporate just got these Spring 2012 releases in stock so head there to add these KD IV’s into your rotation and check with your Nike Basketball retailer soon.

Can we say epic! Spike Lee is the man. Yeah you have an athlete in your shoe, a movie star in your shoe, well Spike has the President in his shoes.
"If Barack Obama wins another term of presidency, now you’ll have to ask yourself: “Is it the shoes?”. Just yesterday Sneaker News showed you the Jordan Spiz’ike Custom Box made just for Barack Obama, and later that evening, Mr. Obama was presented with the special gift from Spike Lee himself. Barack Obama is a Chicago native and is a huge Chicago Bulls and Air Jordan fan, but do you think Barack will keep these on ice, or will he un-DS them for a pick-up game?" - via sneakernewscom
Many of you may be looking forward to the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ or even the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’, but don’t overlook the re-issue of one of the most sought after Air Jordans out there – the Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ that first dropped back in 2000. While Michael himself never wore this particular colorway (Ray Allen did during the 2000 Olympics), the Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after Air Jordans of all-time, with the ’00 release fetching over $500. Here we have a first look at the actual upcoming release.
There’s no question that these ‘Air Yeezy Net‘ customs would’ve cracked that exclusive list, because this pair of custom sneakers, completed by Mike Nameus, cuts no corners and seamlessly welds two completely different shoes into one unique pair of neckbreakers. Starting with the Air Jordan VI ‘Oreo’ as the base, Mike repainted the entire upper to match the ‘Net’ colorway, using a woodburning tool to carve in the ‘Y’ detailing at the toe-box. What sets this customs on a higher level is the glow-in-the-dark treatment given to the translucent outsoles for the complete Air Yeezy appeal.

West Coast streetwear giants Undefeated have released several of their own collaborations with Vans, but most recently, the La Brea location hosted a launch for another Off the Wall tag team effort. It was last Saturday that the Levi Maestro x Vans Vault Old Skool touched down with considerable fanfare, and it seems the shoe’s greyscale upper has bled over into some of these recap images. Click through to get a sense for what went down, including a look at some food from Kogi that’s almost as colorful as the shoe’s rainbow soles, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates on sneaker-centric events from all around the world. via Sneaker Freaker
Pretty dope – Releasing in 1991 Hatfield’s VI design was created based on the look of the Porsche 911, one of Michael Jordan’s cars at that time. The most telling piece of the shoe became the pronounced, black and red plastic heel tab on the VI that was created in the essence of the 911′s over sized spoiler. Chris Hui of C2 Customs‘ goal on this pair of Air Jordan VIs was to further develop the original inspiration and transform the shoe to embody the look of a Porsche as close as possible. - via: http://kicksaddict.com/
The shoe that revitalized the LeBron signature line with the appealing aesthetic of full-length Max Air and the sick Flywire upper panel. Many sneakerheads herald the Air Max LeBron VII as the best Nike LeBron sneaker to have released, and for collectors, the LeBron VII has proven to be an entertaining challenge because there are so many unreleased PEs and Samples floating around, like this never-before-seen red leather sample. It features a full leather construction on the upper (even where the Flywire skin or weave panel is typically situated), with a white midsole and matching red outsole.
