ARTIST TO WATCH FOR NIA DEVINE

ARTIST BIO

Nia (Swahili): meaning: Purpose. Devine: standard spelling divine, meaning: of or pertaining to a god, proceeding from God or a god.
Nia Devine has more than talent, she has a gift. This gift, she wishes to share with all of whom are willing and able to listen. The West Indian blood running through the veins of this Miami native gives Nia Devine’s music a spicy flavor. Her smooth sultry voice is nothing short of hypnotizing over any instrument or instrumental. The time spent on crafting her ability as a songsmith is effortlessly demonstrated in her lyrics. With the influence of her generation and her admiration of musicians from generations before, she lends her voice to the genre of Urban Soul: the music of today with the soul of yesterday gearing towards the future. Nia is a poet with music in her heart. She illuminates the soul scene of South Florida performing her catalog at various venues and events whenever she isn’t singing for The Methodaires (reggae/ska band) or in the studio recording.

Currently Nia is putting towards efforts for her third promotional CD entitled “Summer in Miami”, coming this summer, in conjunction with “Peace.Love.UrbanSoul”, an EP that is due out later this year. She had also collaborated with and continues to work closely with a number of local artists. The Methodaires EP featuring Nia Devine was released in December 2010.
“Cultivating your talent, fine tuning your craft and sharing your gift generates success.”
