Barack Obama Receives Jordan Spiz’ikes From Spike Lee

Can we say epic! Spike Lee is the man. Yeah you have an athlete in your shoe, a movie star in your shoe, well Spike has the President in his shoes.

"If Barack Obama wins another term of presidency, now you’ll have to ask yourself: “Is it the shoes?”. Just yesterday Sneaker News showed you the Jordan Spiz’ike Custom Box made just for Barack Obama, and later that evening, Mr. Obama was presented with the special gift from Spike Lee himself. Barack Obama is a Chicago native and is a huge Chicago Bulls and Air Jordan fan, but do you think Barack will keep these on ice, or will he un-DS them for a pick-up game?" - via sneakernewscom

Jordan Spiz’ike – University Blue – Orange

The Jordan Spiz’ike pictured above isn’t exactly a NYK colorway, but could be more accurately described as UNC-plus-orange, or maybe even a bit of that pre-LeBron era Cleveland Cavs style. Or maybe they’re ‘Un-Ceramics’; no matter the story behind this colorway, it’s superbly done.

Jordan Spiz’ike - Bordeaux

If you know me you know that the Spizikes are in my top 5 greatest shoes and hands down best Hybrid ever in the conception of Jordan or Jordan brand. With that said, these Bordeaux joints will be a good pick up in 2012 and unlike the recent knicks drop theses will be a general release and you can stroll in to the stores no need for a camp out #hypebeast. Enjoy the pics and arrival date will be updated once i get it.

Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Knicks’ – Orange

The only thing resembling criticism we've seen on the New York Knicks-inspired pairs of Jordan Spiz'ikes that Spike Lee himself showed off months ago as a presumed exclusive, is that the blue nubuck pair could maybe do with a bit of extra orange to even out the Big Apple colorway. Well, how's this for some more orange?! Built with more leather and just a hint of nubuck along the mudguard area, this orange Spizike is blocked identically to the blue joints, yet feels like a harder contrast and would probably do well with a release date around the end of October. The official drop isn't set in stone as of yet, but we'd expect these as a Holiday 2011 release, which means you better take an extra job wrapping presents or something to make sure you can get all the goodies on tap for what's looking like the most quality-rich Christmas season a sneakerhead's ever seen. Have a look at more shots of these orange Knicks Spiz'ikes. via Air-Randy

Jordan Spizike – Blue / Black – Orange

One of my all time favorite kix is headed back to the shelf in the near future. I first saw this colorway a while back on spike lee's twitter time line and sneakerboxclyde gave me the heads up that the spizikes were coming and today we have been blessed with the visuals. Hands down the best hybrid ever created by the Jordan brand it fuses together all my favorite Jordans into one beautiful shoe. The mix of Blue’s along its upper culminates with a Blue tinged translucent outsole that really sets the look off while hits of Orange and Black accent well. There is no set release date as yet but you know where to check to find out.

My top 5 kix are...

These are my top 5 favorite kix of all time: Starting off with my jordan 1's. I love the 1's because they are the originators and they are just simple and clean. no matter the color way you can always tell a Jordan one. Jordan changed the game when these came in and made nike the sneaker of choice from that point on.

At #2 for me is my Michael Lau BMX Blazers. This was a very hard shoe for me to find and i'm currently hunting for the white/red colorway. The quality of this shoe is amazing and the look is just so next level and i love blazers. These stand out in any crowd and it was a very good concept shoe.

Coming in at #3 is my 2nd favorite jordan, the 3's. The 3's are storming back in full force this year and the color ways coming towards the end of the year will be in my collection for sure. These are not only iconic but again they are not only clean but they are very comfortable and so 80's.

At #4 are my "Jay-z's" aka Nike sb blazer "Trick Stars". I first saw these on Jay-z and went on the hunt because they were just too fly. Covered in stars with your choice of black or gold laces you can bet that in a crowd you will shine on any body in the room. These kix have rock star written all over them.

Last but not least are my collection of spizikes. I personally own 6 pairs and i'm hunting a pair of Grapes. Jordan brand has been trying to create a hybrid to compete with these for years but they continue to fall short. The spizikes got mars and mike vintage 80's love written all over them. They are a collaboration of the best Jordans to me on one shoe.

So there you have it, my top 5 dead or Alive bury me in my casket in any of these when i die. I'm curious to know your top 5 kix so email me at kixbusiness@gmail.com with your top 5 list or you can leave a comment.

Rock'n Today, what are you wearing? 6-16-2011

If you saw me around town today you would have noticed that i was rock'n these.

The shoes that MJ has never worn.... The Air Jordan Spiz'ike is a fusion of the best qualities of the Air Jordan III, IV, V and VI and pay homage to Spike Lee and his famous character, Mars Blackmon. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, "Mars Blackmon", an annoying, "Brooklyn-loving", sports-loving, die-hard New York Knicks fan, became the primary character in Nike commercials for Air Jordans. In these commercials, Mars Blackmon popularized the phrase "Is it the Shoes? Is it the Shoes? Is it the Shoes? … it's gotta be the shoes."

Rock'n Today, what are you wearing? 6-15-2011

Air Jordan Spizike Mars Blackmon edition AKA Fresh Since ’85. A full size run of both Mens and Youth sizes are available for a under the suggested retail price, and shipping is free. Spizike colorways had been bland for quite some time. This White/Fire Red-Black colorway finally returns an OG feel to the sneakers conceived by Spike Lee and Sir Tinker Hatfield.
