Nike Cortez Fall/Winter 2010 Released

Three colors from the Nike Sportswear FW10 Cortez pack (actually two plus a never-before-seen navy) have landed at Concepts. Grab one or all three now, and get your George Costanza on.

Nike Spring 2010 Classic Cortez Nylon

The Classic Cortez Nylon comes for Spring 2010 in a great all purple colorway. The upper is made of purple nylon and hints of suede. The Swoosh and outer sole come in white.

Nike Sportswear Tiger Classic Cortez – “Year of the Tiger”

Nike Sportswear presents a special Cortez,celebrating the Year of the Tiger. The highly anticipated Nike design to celebrate Chinese New Year will officially launch on Feb. 10th and 13th respectively. Following in the footsteps of its predecessors, this new shoe draws its inspiration from the Chinese Zodiac the year of the tiger. The Nike Chinese Zodiac New Year series started back to 2002 with the Air Force 1, celebrating the year of the horse. The Year of the Tiger Classic Cortez is the 9th design and the first Cortez shoe adopted in the series. As Nike’s first running shoe, Cortez has been well known for its comfort, lightweight and heritage. For 2010, the year of the tiger, the Nike designers took a new approach to interpreting the tiger. Instead of using the popular yellow stripe print, they used white tiger to reflect its image of power and prestige in Chinese traditional culture.



The shoe will be available in two different packages: A traditional Nike shoebox or a unique shoe box design limited to 200 pairs only. The limited shoebox is designed with the same inspiration to complement the shoe: white box with tiger stripe prints and Chinese character on Chinese trigrams and are embossed on each side of the shoe box. Finally, the five-finger death grip design is used to open the shoebox in true tiger fashion. The Nike Year of the Tiger Classic Cortez will be available on February 10th with limited shoebox package and on 13th with traditional Nike shoebox at select Nike Sportswear stores in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Nike Cortez Year of the Tiger

With the Year of the Tiger rapidly approaching its should be of little surprise to see a few brands salute the Chinese new year. Reebok’s Year of the Tiger Pack is a great example of this. Next to pay its respects is Nike by way of this overhauled Cortez.

The shoes are based on the mythical white tiger and thats more than evident with its striping and fur lined upper. The nylon panels house the tonal white stripes while the swoosh, heel tab, toebox and lace plate all are draped in the faux fur. The leather tongue is embossed with the chinese character for tiger and the date of the new year can be found on the sockliner. No word if they are dropping in the states but we sure hope so. Nike Cortez White/Navy Blue

Classics are classics, period. Regardless to how you feel about them Nike Cortez are definitely classics. The model is one of Nikes defining moments that will go down in the hallowed halls of sneaker culture. It comes back on the scene this time in white leather with minimal navy blue accenting and a perforated swoosh.

Nike Classic Cortez Leather 2009 - Lucky Green

We saw Nike retro several vintage Nike Cortez colorways this past year, and here we feature another old skool model which has recently released. This particular version has been dubbed the Lucky Green, and feature a predominantly white leather upper along with green accents, as well as a perforated Nike swoosh. Nike Cortez Flymotion

We recently saw a new color way on the OG Nike Cortez but the question that remained was what about the Cortez Flymotion? Well it looks like this holiday season has spawned an answer. The shoe is back in a possibly Mexican flag inspired color way with all the leather and flywire you can handle. The stark white upper is met by a green and red Free sole and the whole thing is just a great look. These will be available in the coming months.
