Nike Air 180 – Red Safari

Air Max season is upon us and these slick AM 180′s are the perfect kicks to drop for the summer. A textured upper in wolf grey coats the majority of this shoe while what appears to be poison green is slapped on the swoosh and behind both tongues.  Blue hits and a speckled midsole are also featured throughout this shoe making for an extremely vibrant look for the coming months.  A bold hit of “Red Safari” is featured on the back heel creates one of the cleanest Air 180′s we have seen this year.  No word on a release date.

1991's Nike Air Force 180 High

Ankle support nearly meant calf support. Impact protection meant fitting in as much Air and sheer volume as possible. And of course, colors were vibrant whenever possible. Why not throw a Pump system into the mix too, even if you're not the company that started the mechanism's craze to begin with? Not too much regard for sticking strictly to team colors, either, in 1991.

It might look a little funky now -- and about 3 inches too tall -- but the Air Force 180 High was an ideal big man shoe in its day. That much lockdown and little mobility was considered a sign of tremendous support. For The Admiral, it was his year in the Air Force 180 High that he truly came into his own and was recognized as one of the league's best centers.

After putting up 25.6 points per game and a career high 13 rebounds per outing, David Robinson was named to both the All-NBA First Team and the All-Defensive First Team at the end of the 1991 season, both firsts in his career.

With the Air Force 180 High by his side all season, he's been forever linked to the shoe ever since.

Nike Air 180 iD Samples

The Nike Air 180 iD. This runner first hit shelves in 1991 and has enjoyed a decent lifespan in its retro years, albeit much more so on the European sneaker scene than in the US. These finished samples at Nike Harajuku should be enough to win you over or their greatness, showing the capabilities of either replicating classics like the ultramarine colorway, or creating something entirely new with updated options like the speckling.

Nike Air 180 – White / Imperial Blue – Metallic Silver

We haven’t seen the Nike Air 180 make its way to accounts this year yet, but have now come across a new version that is scheduled to drop in a few weeks. The shoe utilizes a breathable mesh/suede upper, sporting a white base along with metallic silver and blue accents. Finishing off the look is the classic air max unit which has been incorporated into the sole. Look for them to hit UK-based End sometime in August.

Nike Air 180 Black/Grey Spring 2011

We continue with our Spring 2011 previews today. After showcasing the Nike Air Max 1 ACG’s, we now take a look at a solid black/grey colorway of the iconic Nike Air 180. The mix of black and grey leathers and especially the wide use of perforated leather give the sneaker a real premium look. The tongue accent in acqua is perfect. Look out for a release January 2011

Nike Holiday 2010 – Air 180, All Court, Dunk Hi Premium

Today we can preview some more releases from the Nike Holiday 2010 Collection. The Air 180 comes in a new black/purple/mud colorway. The Dunk Hi premium comes in an all canvas colorway in bordeaux and the All Court comes in a black leather version with white outer sole.

Nike Air 180 – White-Aqua-Orange

The Nike Air 180 seems to be a low key summertime staple. It’s never a big to do with the releases but they always fall onto shelves in sharp color ways and get a warm reception. Such is the life of an Air Max.



This time around the shoe is given a white/aqua/orange upper that translates to being just as breezy as the shorts you would wear them with. The breathable upper is dotted by an aqua swoosh and backed up by orange accents on the heel and midsole.
