Run-DMC x adidas Originals Superstar 80s – ‘Meet DMC’ Events

Dookie ropes, sleve-rolled blazers, leg warmers and shoulder pads are the kinds of fashion cues more commonly seen in costume or ironic form these days than during their mid-’80s heyday, and that just goes to show how perfect of a design the adidas Originals Superstar ’80s really was/is. Now a quarter-century after its debut, the Superstar shelltoes get a special nod from The Brand with the Three Stripes, this new release commemorating the pioneering rap group who broke ground both musically and in collaborative marketing. The Run-D.M.C Superstars are set to release this Friday, which means that shortly after Darryl McDaniels arrives at Dr. Jays Harlem, it’ll be 11:11 on 11/11/11. DMC will then follow that appearance with another stop at the adidas Originals flagship at 5pm.

Pochoir x Adidas Superstar 80 – Five Two-3 City Artist Series

Photobucket

Pochoir’s Superstar is reminiscent of a romp through the streets of London with a satirical feel and stone wall upper. The tan toned classic has ditched the stitched stripes in favor of painted on ones and comes complete with lace locks and a speckled trefoil. Light blue accents are also used on the heel area, and shoe lacing tips and lace plate. These are definitely slightly more subtle than the rest of the pack but awesome nonetheless. These Superstars are available now for $125 at retailers such as Wish ATL.
