NIKE SB BLAZER “UNDFTD” CUSTOM

These are too fresh!

"So here is my rendition of the UNDFTD colorway on a pair of Nike SB Blazers.

The shoes where fully hand sewn as always and are limited to 5 pairs worldwide.
The rest of the 4 pairs will be done in either a choice of 1000 Denier Nylon or Rip Stop Nylon because the rubberized leather is really hard to get a hold of.

So the kicks where made using soft Black leather,
Rubberized Olive Drab leather
The kicks where sewn together using orange and olive drab thread.
The UNDFTD logo was hand stitched into the heel panel in Orange.
All the edges where tucked in for a premium look
And i added 2 eyelets at the top of the lace panels.

The rubberized leather is military grade and is water/dirt repelling. It was really hard to work with it, it was a huge headache to attach the upper to the sole cause the rubberized leather did not want to glue down at all, as it is treated with a repellent. So after testing out over 4 different glues i decided to sand down the leather to allow it to bond to the midsole and it finally did.

THE SHOE ARE LIMITED TO 5 PAIRS WORLDWIDE at $300 a pair, free continental US shipping.

You can purchase them at my webstore here:

Michael Lau

Michael Lau, is an artist from Hong Kong who is known for his illustration and designer toy figures. Lau is widely credited as the founder of the urban vinyl style within the designer toy movement. His work has had a significant effect on toy manufacturers, as well as street culture, including artists and musicians, throughout the world. His style is particularly influential to Asian and American hip-hop and skateboarding culture. Lau has won several awards for his work, including four from the Hong Kong-based Philippe Charriol Foundation.
Lau began his career when he graduated from Design First Institute in Hong Kong in 1992. While some of his art was on display in small galleries in Hong Kong, Lau began work as a window display designer, before finding employment in the advertising industry. In 1997, Lau was hired to illustrate the cover art for the Anodize electronic music album.

Michael Lau - Discovery short film

In 1998, he began the Gardener comic strip in East Touch magazine for which he is best known. The characters featured in this comic strip were the basis for his first series of vinyl collectible figures.
In 1999, his work became popular enough to attract the attention of the Sony corporation, who exclusively distributed a selection of his Gardener pieces in Asia. Lau signed a contract with Sony which lasted until 2003. During this time, Lau continued to work steadily, creating illustrations and vinyl figures in a graffiti-influenced style.
Lau worked with the Hong Kong hip-hop group LMF, creating a series of figures based on them. He has created other series of urban vinyl figures, such as Crazychildren and Lamdog, in addition to stand-alone pieces. His work is highly collectible and is predominantly collected by adults; his figures are almost exclusively available from designer toys retailers.
In 2004, he opened his own gallery, called michael, in Hong Kong.

Back in 2008, Nike SB worked with Hong Kong vinyl artist, Michael Lau, on a special 2008 Beijing Olympics BMX Blazer Premium that was released in a special vinyl box with a toy Lau created. The pair that was released for retail came in a Yellow and Red colorway that is commonly associate with China. Easily one a my favorite kix in my collection. You can cop a pair a these from about $300 to $500 Authentic but i've seen the fakes and its like comparing a Chrysler 300 to a Phantom so don't play your self.

Nike SB – Newsprint Blazer Hi

Originally thought to be a scrapped sample, the Newsprint Nike SB Blazer has found it’s way to the shelves of Nike SB stockists, such as Active. Using a predominately monotone colorway, the Blazer is done in Black, Gray and White, using suede all over the upper. The use of White on the Swoosh and heel tab really make the branding pop, a nice touch to the otherwise drab color scheme.

Nike Blazer Hi SB – Newsprint / White

Available now on eBay is this sample colorway in the Nike Blazer High silhouette. The shoes feature a grey color scheme, along with black accenting on the toe, lacing tabs, and heel. The upper features a nubuck construction, while the Nike swoosh sports a white leather design, matching the sole. Being that they are so nice, it’s unfortunate that they’re only a sample pair, but if that changes, we will definitely let you guys know.
