Air Jordan IV 2012 Retro Packaging

One of the increasingly cool upgrades we’ve seen pumped into the retro production of Air Jordan models is the usage of special packaging. The Air Jordan XI models of the past few years have utilized the sliding box, and the Air Jordan III releases from last year took it back to an OG look with their elephant print box. Expect the hotly anticipated string of Air Jordan IV release from next year to take a similar approach, with the White/Cement colorway shown here coming with the cement speckled box. An small change to the original is also in place, with the circular hole on the bottom half of the box. Follow us after the jump for a better look and pick these up early if you just can’t wait, via el-store on eBay.

In4mation x Vans Chukka Low ‘Rattles’

The Vans Chukka Low ‘Rattles’ come with an all over snakeskin print, which is an interesting contrast on this otherwise classic skate shoe. Nothing distracts from the clean snake upper. Logos and theme of the collaboration are only featured on the in-sole.

Limited to only 200 pairs, the sneaker will release on January 13th, 2012, at the new retail / gallery space by In4mation, called The Human Imagination. Very few pairs will also be going into the official In4mation online store.

Freegums Talks Nike LeBron 9 Collaboration

By this time last year we already had a definitive Miami flavored colorway of the Nike LeBron 8, but has any one colorway cemented that same status for the Nike LeBron 9 as of yet? A case can be made for a handful of them, and in that conversation the Freegums x Nike LeBron 9 collaboration must be included. While it doesn’t go for a flashy palette that many associate with the Miami aura, artist Freegums leaned a little more on the natural surroundings of Florida as inspiration for his fluid graphic prints that show up on the sneakers. Hit the jump to take a look at the video breakdown of Freegums discussing the background on this killer collab. via sneakernews.com

Nike Dunk Low GS ‘Year of the Dragon’

The Year of the Dragon begins on January 23rd and marks the earliest celebration of Chinese New Year since 1965. But in the sneakerhead world, the Water Dragon has made his mark well in advance of even the Gregorian calendar flip, starting all the way back in September when we first laid eyes on the LeBron 9 ‘China’. Zoom KD IV and Air Jordan 2012 colorways have popped up in the meantime, and it’d be a wise investment to wager on an Air Force 1 Low joining the fray, but today’s news is a kids-sized edition of the AF1′s biggest rival in the Nike Sportswear classics lineup. The Nike Dunk Low GS ‘Year of the Dragon’ loses the blue watery tones and instead opts for a black, red and gold colorup with lizard detailing on the overlay whose overall effect is both reptillian and reflects its country of origin. ’2012′ heel embroidery and a wicked dragon insole make these an interesting possibility for thsoe who can fit them.

Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Year Of The Dragon’

The Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Year Of The Rabbit’ was one of the best releases of 2011 and certainly one of the more memorable AF1 outputs in a long while. But 2011? That’s old news! Here’s a peek at 2012′s Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Year Of The Dragon’; it features a tonal black upper constructed in a luxurious satin-like material with dragon detailing stealthily surrounding the upper. The midsole is also a solid white, and appears to be wrapped with leather for that ‘Supreme’ effect. Another interesting note is the new box, labeled AF1-XXX, signifying the 30th Anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1, the historic basketball shoe that laid the groundwork for the most successful line of basketball performance footwear. Thanks to Jack Edwards, we’ve got a nice look at these.
