When one considers the history of Nike, year's like 1964, '78 and '85 are bound to come up, but could any single 12-month stretch rival the Swoosh's output in 1987? The sheer amount of innovation produced during that year is unquestionable when you consider the debut of the Nike Air Max 1, Air Safari, Air Trainer 1 and Air Jordan II, though the last of that list has us thinking '87's also quite significant as it seems Tinker Hatfield's genius couldn't be contained, so he simply had to get to work on the next year's Air Jordan flagship.
