ESSAY: When you hear the name Barack Obama, what comes to mind? Everyone knows he is the first African American President but that is not all he is known for. In one of president Obama’s speeches he stated that “I chose to run for the presidency at this moment in history because I believe deeply that
we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together”. This ideology of unity is one that I hold dearly, in recent years America has lost its sense of unity the nation is struggling to maintain the pride and zeal that many Americans once had. President Obama is a visionary and his insight has allowed him to reach nations with his compassion and leadership, he moved quickly to help those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. Barack Obama has accomplished so much in office since being elected, from passing the American Recovery Act, to shifting the focus of the war from Iraq to Afghanistan. This act has created more than 2.1 million jobs and because of our president’s actions the recession has drastically slowed down and the unemployment rate has decreased.President Obama’s intuitiveness allowed him to understand that the emphasis was not on Iraq but on reducing terrorism. Obama makes his point clear that Afghanistan is the main target in ending terrorism. President Obama has effectively improved relations with Iran, Russia and the Islamic world. He has visited more countries and met with more world leaders than any president in his first six months in office. There is no other president as wise, strategic and compassionate as the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.
